back		 Hugh Braithwaite is President and CEO of Braithwaite Communications, a boutique public relations firm specializing in strategic publicity, creative materials and events, and crisis management.

One of the most respected and experienced communications executives in the region, Hugh has developed and directed award-winning public relations and marketing campaigns for Fortune 100 companies and emerging growth companies in the business services, consumer products, technology pharmaceutical, and health care industries.

Previously, Hugh was a founding Vice President of The Tierney Group, the region's largest independent public relations firm, where he directed marketing planning, media training and expanded the agency's consumer and health care business.

Hugh gained national experience from two of the country's largest public relations agencies, where he directed several national product launches involving celebrity media tours, new product technologies and creative positioning. His national publicity results include Today on NBC, The Tonight Show, CNN and major articles in the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Fortune and Newsweek.

At Porter/Novelli, New York, Hugh managed several health care accounts including Ciba-Geigy Pharmaceuticals and Parke Davis. Prior to Porter/Novelli, he was with Cohn & Wolfe, a division of PR giant Burson-Marsteller, where he focused on national and consumer marketing programs for Hasbro Toys and Philip Morris.

Hugh has also led successful crisis communications programs involving product recalls, regulatory scrutiny, abrupt management changes and environmental issues. He began his career working for the Hershey Chocolate Company in sales and marketing.

He currently serves as a guest lecturer on Marketing and Public Relations at Villanova University and St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia. He is a member of the American Marketing Association, the Public Relations Society of America; and serves on the board of the Philadelphia Ship Preservation Guild, and Care Lift International's Public Relations Committee.

Hugh is a graduate of Dickinson College and a native of the Philadelphia area. He and his family live in St. Davids, PA. He is active in several civic, community and charitable organizations.
